Diesel

Diesel fuel is any liquid fuel used in diesel engines, whose fuel ignition takes place, without spark, as a result of compression of the inlet air mixture and then injection of fuel. (Glow plugs, grid heaters and heater blocks help achieve high temperatures for combustion during engine startup in cold weather.)
SUO Global Logistics - Diesel

Diesel engines have found broad use as a result of higher thermodynamic and thus fuel efficiencies. This is particularly noted where diesel engines are run at part-load; as their air supply is not throttled as in a petrol engine, their efficiency still remains high. Our Suppliers´s diesel fuels are blended to provide good ignition quality and are held to high-quality standards for our customers. Their low-temperature fluidity characteristics can also help keep your vehicle moving in colder temperatures.

TYPES OF DIESEL:

Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD) –  Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel fuel is made to meet the needs of the most demanding customers. This diesel fuel is formulated to be used by any consumer diesel-fueled vehicle on the road.

Green Diesel (HDRD) – Green Diesel is different than biodiesel , cars do not need any special modifications and it can be put into the pipeline for transportation. Biodiesel cannot be put into a pipeline as it is not compatible. There is no pollution, it will clean the engine and gets very good mileage per liter.

CARB (California Air Resource Board) diesel – for motor vehicle use in California

Low-sulfur diesel – primarily for off-road use in construction and agricultural applications

Off-road diesel – primarily for railroad locomotive and marine use
Additives:
o   Dye – blended with diesel to indicate off-road use only
o   CFI – Cold Flow Inhibitor, which improves fuel performance in low             temperatures
o   TXLED – Texas Low Emission Diesel additive
o   Cetane – increases the performance of diesel in certain conditions
